anon, i really enjoy your slight obsession with my interests. i’m not even being sarcastic. please keep asking me questions.
i have to be totally cliché here and go with the joker and harley quinn. they’re both just so fascinating and multi-faceted. well, maybe not harley, but i do identify a bit with her (is that a bad thing? it definitely is. oh well). the joker, on the other hand, is one of the greatest fictional characters ever created, and that’s saying a lot coming from a literary nerd. there are so many ways one could shape and interpret his character, and yet, he always has those classic qualities—the psychotic black sense of humor, the frightening unpredictability, the love of theatrics and showmanship just for the hell of it. his characterization is almost palpable, and i really enjoy that.
i also love their relationship to each other. of course, you have harley’s undying loyalty despite all the abuse, and the joker cares for her in his way (i hesitate to say “loves” her). it’s oddly endearing yet truly terrifying, all at the same time.
